About us

At Ahu Akivi on Easter Island stand seven stone statues known as Moai. Erected in the early 1600s, legend says they represent seven navigators sent to discover teh island, and were built to help guide visitors to the island. Celestially significant, the seven Moai at Ahu Akivi face the sunset during the spring equinox and have their backs to the sunrise during the autumn equinox.
